Yes, jump in! When I lived in England, France, and Ireland, I noticed how everyone talked about politics, heatedly at times. Ideas matter. Perspectives matter. I want to talk about what matters with my friends, my family. Politics is anything but private.

How about asking them why they support McCain, listen, try to understand, and then express your views, gently yet fully? Or you could send them this video, customized... http://tinyurl.com/66t6ff

heheheheh.

Good luck!

So apparently it all has to go back after the campaign? I'd just like to know which thrift store she frequents — my wardrobe could use a $150,000 shot in the arm.

You're welcome! I'm glad you like the shirt. In fact, I didn't have it made--it was hanging on a rack in a shop in downtown Davis. There are many of us!

You bring up an excellent point, Katie. I'm been thinking the same about how many posts here have been about Palin and not the future with Obama. I think we should all focus more on bringing Obama into the blog more than we do!!!

These are serious times, serious debates. And then Sarah Palin’s tactic is so perfectly summed up by “do something really cute.” (I hate, by the way, that this amuses me so much.) If she winked or shimmied any more on stage last night I might have cried.

I’m going to pull together thoughts on last night’s debate for a proper post. I'm so frustrated that so much of my own thinking about this race has become about Sarah Palin. Obama, in his own right, is such an exciting candidate — and Joe Biden won me over last night, entirely. Why, then, instead of being excited about their ticket (I am, of course, but this is secondary now to some extent) am I so focused on Palin and McCain?

Unfortunately, some people seem to be hunkering down into "willful ignorance" and voting as though the race were a reality tv show. I'm with you about how scary it is. I'm ridiculously nervous about tonight's debate for all of the reasons this article outlines!
